RARE FLER NARVICK MAPLE CHAIR c1965
Fler Narvick chairs by Fred Lowen are iconic mid century Australian contemporary style furniture and design. They are treasured pieces for their soft-line curves and iconic sculptured ‘horn’ armrests.
This stunning solid Maple chair is reconditioned and re-upholstered in premium quality INSTYLE fabric which is GECA certified (excellent sustainability standards) with new cushion inserts. The fabric is a rust like colour and compliments the timber well.
Fler Narvicks were usually made in Teak or Blackwood. Maple wood is light blond in colour, a heavier weight and was rarely used in this style of chair. This beautiful chair would compliment any style conscious space and is dated approximately mid 1960s. This is in excellent condition. The timber has been sanded and oiled.

FRED LOWEN (1919–2005) was a German-Australian designer and an inductee into the Design Institute of Australia Hall of Fame. Starting in September 1945, Lowen designed and made wooden homewares with Ernest Rodeck under the name of FLER, which developed into a significant furniture design and production business for iconic chairs, lounges and dining suites, throughout Australia. Today, Lowen FLER originals are valuable, well sought after investments that were made to last.
