Catherine Dix lives and works in the Périgord Vert near Brantôme, France. The artist discovered ceramics in 2012, progressing from functional design to art form. Catherine's work combines sculptural object with ancient style textures. Her work could be reminiscent of early history symbolism. Her ceramics are described as "small architectures, sometimes perched on high legs...whereby a game of construction takes place, in search of the perfect balance" (Simone Scaloni, Art historian). "The artist's work is captivating, invoking a sense of mystery...with the primary objective of beauty, which is vaguely anthropomorphic".
